1. Getting Started
  2. Getting Started

Ara works by understanding your product and the code behind it, then continuously improving it through autonomous runs.

At a high level, getting started involves three things:

1. Give Ara access to your project

Ara reads your product and codebase in order to understand how things work today. This context allows Ara to identify the highest‑value next improvement.

2. Let Ara identify the next step

Once Ara has context, it looks for the next meaningful improvement. Rather than waiting for a prompt, Ara selects the next task itself.

The task is turned into a scheduled agent or background run so work can continue even while you are away.

3. Review what Ara ships

When Ara completes a task, it ships the change and creates a pull request. You can review the diff and decide how the change should move forward.

As Ara continues to run, each pass through the loop makes the next one more informed.

What happens next

After a run completes:

  • Ara remembers what shipped
  • It understands more about your codebase
  • It prepares the next improvement

This loop continues, compounding progress over time.
